The Deep South with Trek America - Part I

It has always been a dream of mine to do a road trip in America since I was younger - the USA has always fascinated me and the dream was always to do a big road trip visiting every single state from one side to the other, but I feel like everyone wants to do that, right? So when I was fortunate enough to be invited along to go on a road trip in the Deep South with Trek America, a part of the USA that I had never even thought about ever going to, my first reaction was: WOW. Trek America is a travel company that provide trips in the US, Canada and South America that allows you to see as many places as you can in certain amount of time. I've looked at their trips on their website in the past but had never actually gotten round to booking one, so you could imagine my reaction when I got asked to join their annual #iTrekHere blogger trip with 7 other bloggers from different backgrounds (lifestyle, travel and fashion).

New York

So back in February, I went to New York for 4 days. It was incredible and I've posted so much about it on my social media because the trip was just so good. I posted a video on my main channel of it, and daily vlogged the whole trip on my 2nd channel. Go watch below!

It was my first holiday that I'd been on with friends and to be honest, I was incredibly nervous regardless of the fact that I'm really good friends with the people I went with. But in the end, it was fine because when we landed in New York, we all looking at each other like 'wtf, we're actually in New York'. Let me explain how this happened.. we were looking at cheap travel deals in the new year sales at places in Europe to go on a holiday but then New York popped up for a really cheap price for the flights and accommodation, so we booked it. The trip was overall unreal and I'm already looking on planning another trip back there soon. Here are some snaps that I just feel like sharing.. this post is very messy I know but I wanted to do something.

A Fresh Start

Hello hello hello!

I'm Sam, you've probably come from my YouTube channel but that's cool! If you haven't, then welcome.. I make videos and it would mean a lot if you went and checked them out & subscribed: youtube.com/samcarruk.

But let me introduce myself properly to those who don't know me..

My name is Sam Carr, I'm a 21 year old student that's currently in his second year at university in London studying Media & Communications and

I'm a lifestyle & travel videographer/photographer that aspires to travel the world documenting my journey.
Welcome to the first blog post that I've made in a while but I can assure you that that is about to change. I've decided I'm going to write more blog posts as I really want to get more into writing! I also feel that sometimes it's a lot easier to type something up rather than turn a camera on and speak it. I want to make this blog something that can go alongside my channel, with posts relating to topics or events that I make videos on.. you know, just to add a little bit extra content to those who want it. I want to make this an outlet where I can write post about some of my favourite things that don't necessarily need a video for. I also want to use this as a place to share some of my favourite photos that I've taken as it's something that I'm really getting into more.

If any of you want me to do posts on any topics, then please let me know.

ALSO just a heads up, subscribe to my 2nd channel where I post silly vlogs as I'm going to New York later on this month and I'm daily vlogging my time out there. Subscribe so you don't miss out on it! youtube.com/moresamcarr

Exploring London

(Credit to Ami (@AmiLeah_ for this shot of me taking a photo on my phone)

London - I love you.
This is the first of many posts to come about this city, I'm just incredibly love with everything about it. Living just outside of the capital, I've always been going into the city all of my life and every time is so special and so many memories are made. Now, I'm in London 3 - 4 days a week as I study there for university and I always end up making a day of it every time I go because there are so many things to do and see. Just like this day when one of my closest pals Sammi come down for the day - we went sight-seeing along the Thames, had (a bit too much) fun in the photo booth's in Topshop and Urban Outfitters on Oxford Street, drank Bubble Tea, demolished a Nando's and sat by Nelson's Column in Trafalgar Square watching the evening traffic go by with Big Ben in full view. The entire day was so much fun and it was with such good company, I made new friends and had a lot of laughs.

Go watch my video from the day to see more of what happened over on my Youtube channel.

Also go subscribe to Sammi as her vlog from the day will be going up soon!

My Fave Tune Playlist On Spotify

Here's a playlist from my Spotify of my favourite tunes, it changes all the time but I use it to listen to some of my favourite songs at the moment in the same place.
I'm also going to try and start doing a monthly playlist of 10 of my favourite songs from that month!
Hope you enjoy,
Sam
